What is a Hardside Waterbed? A hardside waterbed uses a rigid wooden frame that the water bladder sits inside directly. It has the classic, traditional waterbed look and feel. Unlike a softside waterbed — which fits inside any standard bed frame — a hardside requires a dedicated waterbed frame.

This listing is for the bladder only. Hardside cover systems are available separately and can enhance comfort and protect your bladder — but they are not required for use with a hardside waterbed frame.

• Construction: 20 mil blue PVC exterior; H-shaped foam insert providing lumbar support, wave reduction, and edge support along the sides of the bed; four additional layers of wave control fiber
• Edge Support: The H-foam extends down the sides of the bladder, providing support when sitting on the edge of the hardside frame — reducing strain on the wood rail and the sleeper
• Best For: Sleepers who want maximum wave reduction with lumbar and edge support in a hardside waterbed
